My Summer inspiration
As we transition into warmer temps and longer days, I thought an afternoon creating a mood board to reflect my summer inspiration was in order. Leaving behind the soft dewy spring woodland bluebells that had served as my muse for the past few frosty months and welcoming a bright and vibrant fuchsia palette was a refreshing and exciting change that will serve as endless inspiration for my next season of paintings!
As me and James celebrated our two year wedding anniversary this June, I knew some blushing pink peonies had to serve as a main feature of the mood board as a nod to the many full and fluffy stems that surrounded us on our wedding day. Accompanying these gorgeous botanicals are some crimson coloured velvety roses, blooming everywhere during the warmer months in Ireland, filling the summer haze with a sweet and musky aroma. Framing these are various sources of my main colour inspirations - mixed hues of green, from a soft sage to deep emerald, encapsulated in silky ribbons, stems and leaves. But it is the various shades of pink that really make a statement. In the forms of bright blooming fuchsia botanicals, dusty crimson tweed swatches and soft sheer painted petals it is easy to see where my inspiration will continue to lie. I can’t wait to use this board of botanical inspiration to influence my next collection of paintings - watch this space!
With love,
