Spring is Coming

$475.00

There is so much folklore and Irish mythology surrounding blackthorn trees. They are sometimes referred to as fairy trees as it’s believed that fairies live in them and if you cut them down bad things will happen. They are one of the first flowers you see in late winter/early spring. The dark black thorny branches are covered in creamy white flowers that give the promise that spring is coming and soon everything else will begin to bloom in the hedgerows. On a cold, crisp day they are such a beautiful sight.

This original painting is 10x14 inches on watercolor paper. It does not come framed or matted.

Life lately 🩵
The weather in Ireland has been all sunshine and we are soaking it up!
1. Beach day with Oisín
2. The gorgeous gorse smelling like coconuts 🥥
3. Plein air painting in the sunshine
4. Day trip to beautiful Ballycastle
5. Paint
I had a very nice man pop his head into my gallery yesterday.. a self proclaimed “horsey man.” He saw my painting ‘Wild Like the Wind’ hanging in the window and said that he wanted to tell me that I captured the horses perfect
