Bogland I

$2,450.00

The view from the Old Bog Road is one of the best of the Twelve Ben’s - the mountain range in Connemara. The lovely owner of nearby Anglers Return gave me the tip. A narrow country road near Roundstone, it cuts across the bog and feels as though you’ve gone back in time. The landscape can feel barren since there’s no trees and bogs can look brown until you focus your eyes and realize it’s bursting with vibrant color, especially on a sunny day.

Subtle or hidden beauty is something I’ve come so fond of searching for here in Ireland.

I realized I had captured the same picture on two different days - one a sunny bright day, the other a muted grey day. The same scene but different moods. I’m calling Bogland I and Bogland II ‘Sister paintings.’ The would sit lovely together like a ying and yang or on their own to fit the mood of the room they are in.

“Love letter to a bog” by Sharon Blackie really summarizes the feeling of being here.e landscape.

I had a very nice man pop his head into my gallery yesterday.. a self proclaimed “horsey man.” He saw my painting ‘Wild Like the Wind’ hanging in the window and said that he wanted to tell me that I captured the horses perfect
Do you see your favorite flower in my new collection? That’s because a few weeks ago I asked you guys what your favorite flowers are and that inspired my new collection of blooms! 🌸 I love painting flowers and it was so fun painting them in th
